How to watch Union Saint-Gilloise v Rangers: TV channel, kick-off time, live stream and team news

They have started their Premiership campaign in the right way - now Rangers want to take one step towards continental joy.

The Light Blues are in Belgium this week as they take on Union Saint Gilloise in Champions League third round qualifier first leg action. Last year they fell to Malmo in their attempts to reach the riches of the group stage but it worked out well as they eventually reached May's Europa League final.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team won their opening league match 2-1 away at Livingston on Saturday but Rangers will know they will need to move up the gears if they are to achieve a huge prize come the end of August. Union fell just short of a miraculous title victory last season in their maiden Belgian First Division campaign following promotion from the second tier and will be keen to prompt another shock.

Here is all the information you need ahead of this tussle;

Team news

Rabbi Matondo and Ridvan Yilmaz have travelled with Rangers ahead of this one as they look for competitive debuts. Alfredo Morelos is in the squad but hasn't featured in pre-season, with Kemar Roofe set to miss the match.

Connor Goldson said: “We have a lot of confidence from last season’s run. Tactically in Europe the manager is very good.

"He watches the opposition so much and he will change things depending on who we are playing. That will stand us in good stead.

"We have had a good pre-season and we have won our first league game although it certainly wasn’t our best performance. It was always going to he hard going there so early in the season."
