How to watch the Women's World Cup live on TV and online: England vs Australia

England World Cup team

And breathe! That was a tense set of quarter-finals, and England managed to squeak through past Colombia. It's an Ashes-themed semi-final now against co-hosts Australia. The Lionesses will be outnumbered in the stadium but that's why it's so important for us to watch from home and cheer them on.

Australia needed penalties to knock out France but the co-hosts have looked impressive at the tournament so far, even with star striker Sam Kerr recovering from injury. The Lionesses found themselves behind late in the first half against an impressive Colombia but goals from Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo say them pull through. How far can they go?

Here's how to watch all the remaining matches live, whether you are in the UK, US or elsewhere.

How to watch the Women's World Cup in the UK

All Women's World Cup matches are split between the BBC and ITV in the UK (in the same way as major men's international football tournaments). That means they will be shown live on BBC One, BBC Two, ITV1 or ITV4.

They will also be streamed on either BBC iPlayer or ITVX.

If you're travelling outside the UK during the tournament, you can also use a decent football VPN to unblock BBC / ITV and watch every game live from anywhere on the planet.

How to watch the Women's World Cup in the US

FOX has the TV broadcast rights to matches in the US, so will show all matches on either FOX or FS1. Peacock will also stream all matches on its platform, but only for paid Peacock Premium subscribers.

How to watch the England vs Australia semi final live

So often coming unstuck in the semi-finals of the World Cup, England will be hoping to go one further against co-hosts Australia and reach a first-ever World Cup Final.  With the home crowd and a strong Matildas team between them and the final, it won't be easy.

The England vs Australia semi-final will kick off on Wednesday 16 August at 11:00 BST and will be available to watch live on BBC1 and BBC Sport in the UK, FS1 and Peacock in the US.

Here are the kick-off times for your location:

  • US West Coast: 03:00 PT
  • US East Coast: 06:00 ET
  • UK: 11:00 BST
  • Central Europe: 12:00 CEST
  • Australia (Sydney): 20:00 AEST
