The satirical horror movie The Menu proved a hit when it was released in cinemas in November, and now it is available to stream at home. As it went up against Marvel’s blockbusting Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, The Menu may have slipped under the radar for some viewers.
In the film, Margot (Anya Taylor-Joy) and her date Tyler (Nicholas Hoult) travel to Hawthorne, an exclusive restaurant on a private island owned by celebrity chef Julian Slowik (Ralph Fiennes). Alongside a host of wealthy diners all eager to try a lavish tasting menu, horror soon unfolds and the young couple find themselves trapped in a living nightmare.
Directed by Mark Mylod – whose impressive CVs includes credits on Succession, Game of Thrones, and Shameless – The Menu revolves around the $1,250-a-head restaurant and satirises the perceived pretentiousness enjoyed by the top ‘one percent’. It was well received by critics and viewers alike and currently boasts a Certified Fresh 89 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The film is also up for two awards at this year’s Golden Globes, with Fiennes and Taylor-Joy both getting the nod for Best Actor and Best Actress. But if you missed The Menu during its cinema run, you can now enjoy it from the comfort of your own home.
