Manchester City will tonight be looking to put one foot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League when they face Sporting Lisbon in the first-leg of their last-16 showdown at the Jose Alvalade Stadium.
City, who reached the final of the competition last season, losing 1-0 to Chelsea in Porto, secured their place in the last-16 with four wins out of six in Group A, whilst Sporting finished runners-up to Ajax in Group C, clinching second place ahead of German giants Borussia Dortmund.
Pep Guardiola's side are one of the favourites to go deep into the competition once again this season and will be desperate to go one further than 12 months ago and lift their maiden Champions League crown.
However, Sporting, who are currently second in the Portuguese top-flight, are likely to pose a stern threat, meaning City will not be taking any risks in their attempts to take an advantage into the return leg at the Etihad Stadium.

What is the early Sporting Lisbon vs Man City team news?
City, following Saturday's 4-0 win over Norwich City, will still be without record-signing Jack Grealish due to an ongoing shin problem. He missed the win over Canaries and is not fit enough to be involved tonight, meaning he has been left out of the squad.
Fellow attackers Cole Palmer and Gabriel Jesus have also been ruled out.
