The 2024 NFL season officially kicks off tonight (Thursday). The Baltimore Ravens take on the two-time defending world champion Kansas City Chiefs, who open at home.
It pits two-time MVP (and the reigning winner) Lamar Jackson against Patrick Mahomes, also a two-time MVP winner.
The Chiefs went 11-6 last season en route to their championship. The Ravens went 13-4 and made it to the AFC Championship Game, only to lose to the Chiefs.
The Ravens lost 15 players in free agency and their defensive coordinator became head coach of the Seattle Seahawks.
The Chiefs bolstered their receiver room with Xavier Worthy and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, although Brown will miss the opener with a shoulder injury.
