Following the home tie at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal will travel to Eindhoven on Thursday as they look to pip PSV to top spot in Group A of the Europa League.
Having won all three of their opening matches in the group prior to last week's fixture, Arsenal secured a place in the knockout stages after getting their fourth straight win in the competition against Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side. However, now the focus turns to claiming first place and all the Gunners need is a point. Finishing top would see them receive a bye straight to the last 16, avoiding a play-off clash against a Champions League drop-out as a result.
“For sure it is important (this season) because we have never played this many games after the World Cup. Any games you can skip it's a big bonus,” Mikel Arteta said. “We have discussed that. For two reasons. One because you skip two matches and also because you miss some of the top teams.”
