This history isn’t a pretty one for Carolina, as they’re 1-6 all-time against Pittsburgh. That lone win came in the very first matchup between the two franchises, as Kerry Collins and the Panthers edged out an 18-14 victory in 1996.
Since then, the Steelers have absolutely wiped the cats out in six straight games—averaging 35.5 points per contest with their average margin of victory at 22.2 points.
What to watch for
With both teams knowing what their respective quarterbacks are capable (and incapable) of, we’re probably going to have ourselves a good old-fashioned backfield battle.
For the Panthers, they’ll be leaning on an attack that brought them 223 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns in last week’s win over the Seattle Seahawks. D’Onta Foreman will be leading that grind, with Chuba Hubbard and Raheem Blackshear behind him.
As for the Steelers, they too could utilize a three-headed approach—as Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren, and Benny Snell Jr. might help prop up an uncertain passing game.
