History
The Panthers have the upper hand on the series as a whole, topping the Buccaneers in 24 of their 43 matchups. But it’s Tampa Bay who has the recent edge.
Six of the last seven meetings have gone to the Bucs, including four straight between 2020 and 2021. With Tom Brady heading the bunch in those four games, Tampa has outscored Carolina 150 to 63.
What to watch for
Quite frankly, there’s not much to watch when you’re watching the Panthers anymore—at least offensively. With star running back Christian McCaffrey and wide receiver Robbie Anderson now gone, an already broken offense will have to answer even more questions against a tough Tampa Bay defense.
So, maybe, you can look forward to seeing the answers. Who, between D’Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard, becomes the primary back? Which receiver steps up to that No. 2 role?
And can interim head coach Steve Wilks rally up his troops under more dire straits to put up a fight with Brady’s Bucs?
