Manchester United are chasing a top-four finish and have a good chance of winning silverware this season in the Carabao Cup, but this doesn't mean that Erik ten Hag is about to abandon the team's FA Cup run.
United beat Everton 3-1 in the previous fixture to progress to the next round. A fourth-minute strike from Antony, an own-goal from Conor Coady and a penalty deep in extra time from Marcus Rashford confirmed the win.
Reading should pose no problem for a United side that have only lost once since the resumption of club football after the World Cup. This, combined with fixture congestion, may mean that Ten Hag names a rotated side for the game against the Royals, who are managed by ex-United midfielder Paul Ince.
