Manchester United takes a welcomed break from the Premier League and hosts Partizan for its fourth group match in the Europa League. The Red Devils have hit very hard times domestically, but hold a small lead in Group L. If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side can pick up a much-needed three points, it would not only lift the confidence of the squad but would all but clinch a spot in the knockout rounds.

To follow the old cliche, this season has been one step forward and two steps back for United. You need to look no further than the team’s last two results to prove this. Last week, Marcus Rashford scored two goals to knock a red-hot Chelsea out of the Carabao Cup. Just a few days later, the team fell, 1-0, to Bournemouth. This just goes to show why they sit 10th in the Premier League table and why rumors of Solskjaer’s future are beginning to swirl.
Injuries surely haven’t helped United’s cause. Paul Pogba has only appeared six times for the club this season, his last coming against Arsenal at the end of September. Rashford, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Eric Bailly and Diogo Dalot are just some of the other names who have been bitten by the injury bug this season.
A win at home over Partizan would be a nice boost heading back into league play, while anything less could be a vital blow to the manager’s status. United scored a 1-0 victory over Partizan in Serbia in the last Europa League matchday.
