How to watch Love Island when you're outside of the UK

Forget Blue Monday, the ultimate antidote to January blues is hitting screens as Love Island makes its long-awaited return to ITV and viewers can keep up with the action wherever they are in the world.

Love Island is launching its first winter series since before the pandemic with the first episode airing on ITV2 and streaming on ITVX on Monday (January 16) at 9pm. The new batch of islanders, including 22-year-old biomedical science student and influencer Tanya Mahenga from Liverpool, have headed to South Africa to enjoy the sunny climate of a new Casa Amor located in the wine region of Franschhoek.

Fans of the show can watch all the goings-on from the villa on Freeview TV or by catching up on ITVX. But devotees who have been tempted to go and find some winter sun of their own may not be in the UK and risk missing out on those all-important early episodes where all the new contestants are introduced and couples form.

Help is at hand though as there is a simple way to watch Love Island from outside the UK. A VPN can be used to watch Love Island UK wherever you are in the world by signing up to a service like NordVPN or ExpressVPN which means you can watch ITV on your devices even while out of the country.

What's more, a VPN is well worth using even when you're back home allowing you to keep your web history completely private and your online data safe and stream movies. You can sign up with NordVPN here and ExpressVPN here in time for the start of the new series meaning even if you've decided to start 2023 with a break to bust the January blues you won't be missing those all-important early episodes from the iconic villa.

There are a set to be a few changes for the much-loved series since we last saw it, when Ekin-Su and Davide scooped the top prize. Maya James is set to take over as the new host replacing Laura Whitmore while the Love Island Aftersun panel now has Made in Chelsea's Sam Thompson and last year's finalist Indiyah Polack as regular contributors.

How to watch Love Island while abroad

Sign up with NordVPN on your preferred device, either before you go abroad or while you're away. The service works on phones, tablets and laptop/desktop PCs and Macs.

Log into the VPN and then open your browser and go to ITV.com to see all the action from Casa Amor. The service will also allow you to watch any other UK-location specific content you are eligible to - so if you want to watch UK Premiership football games on Prime Video or catch up with Eastenders on BBC iPlayer or whatever your latest binge watch is on Disney+ it will work as if you were sat on your sofa at home.
