Less than 24 hours after Liverpool marked the start of the new domestic season by beating Manchester City in the Community Shield, albeit at the unusual venue of the King Power Stadium, Jurgen Klopp's men will play hosts to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg at Anfield.
Two games in two days would usually seem like a wild thing for any manager to decide upon, but because of how short this summer's pre-season was due to the World Cup in Qatar kicking off in winter, teams have been short-changed in their preparations for the new campaign.
Which has seen Klopp the friendly in a bid to give those who didn't feature against Manchester City on Saturday evening the necessary game time ahead of the new season.

Early team news
It remains to be seen who will start against the French side on Sunday evening, however, going off the team that started in the Midlands it's obvious to say the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Thiago, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz will all be granted the night off.
This means expect to see Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Naby Keita, Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho alongside some of the Reds' academy stars including Isaac Mabaya, Luke Chambers and Stefan Bajcetic.
