How to watch Liverpool vs Chelsea 2022 Carabao Cup final: TV channel, live stream, kick-off, early team news

Liverpool are fighting on all four fronts this season, with their first shot at silverware available at this Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.

After reaching the final in his first season in charge, other priorities have prevented much success in cup competitions throughout Klopp's reign.

A strong showing in this year's tournament perhaps points to him having finally built a squad strong enough to compete across all fronts. A midweek win over Norwich would also see them progress to the quarter-final stage of the FA Cup.

Liverpool last won the league cup in 2012 when they defeated Cardiff City under the stewardship of Kenny Dalglish.

Incredibly, Manchester City have won the competition six times in the period since which, combined with their two wins in the 1970s, matches Liverpool's record total of eight. Victory on Sunday then would put Liverpool back clear as England's most successful club in the competition once again.

What is the early Liverpool vs Chelsea team news?

Jurgen Klopp is likely to wait until the last minute to make an assessment on the availability of Diogo Jota. Roberto Firmino is also currently considered a major doubt after picking up an injury in the victory over Inter Milan at the San Siro.

This could, of course, open the door for new signing Luis Diaz. The Colombian has become an early fans' favourite at Anfield and has developed a good early rapport with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Klopp, otherwise, has a fully fit squad to choose from. Harvey Elliott's exclusion from the midweek squad may indicate he will have a big role to play.

Chelsea, meanwhile, remain without first-choice full-backs Reece James and Ben Chilwell.

Mateo Kovacic is also considered a major doubt, while Callum Hudson-Odoi is fighting fit to be involved in the matchday squad.
