Leeds United kick off their pre-season tour of Australia on Thursday, July 14, when they take on Brisbane Roar at the CBUS Stadium. Jesse Marsch’s 26-man squad went Down Under on Sunday and have been holding open training sessions throughout the week, with Tuesday’s session met with pouring rain while those back in West Yorkshire baked in the sun.
Thursday’s clash is the first of three in Australia, with games against Premier League opposition Aston Villa and Crystal Palace to follow. All three games should provide an opportunity to see Marsch’s philosophy fully implemented, following the slapdash survival approach to last season’s run-in.
It should also provide an opportunity to see this summer’s new arrivals, with all six included in the travelling party. It makes this year’s pre-season a lot more interesting than in some previous years, with many Whites fans hoping to catch the games, no matter how early some of them kick off.
