England will today play their final home game of this year’s Six Nations, with Italy in town.

Steve Borthwick’s side have endured a mixed campaign. Late wins over France and Scotland offer signs of progress, although the manner of their defeat to Ireland was concerning – albeit they are of course one of the best teams world rugby has to offer.

Still, despite the victories, the Red Rose need to end the campaign on a high. Italy, for all their improvement, do offer England a favourable chance of finishing strongly.

Such has been the inconsistent nature of their campaign thus far, England remain very difficult to judge. Supporters are yet to have been truly excited, with doubts about the current managerial regime still lingering as things stand.

The Italians were smashed by France last time out, too. While impressive at times, England have to fancy their chances about putting on a show at Twickenham later today.
