Everton are in the midst of a brutal run of fixtures. They were beaten by Liverpool 1-0 in the Merseyside derby earlier this week, and will face Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, and Chelsea in the weeks following the Arsenal clash.
They are, however, unworried about relegation this season, in a pleasant change from bygone years. David Moyes has transformed the side since taking over from Sean Dyche in January, winning four and drawing five of his first 12 games in charge.
A thinning injury list also plays in Everton’s favour, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin is due to return to play soon. His return follows Iliman Ndiaye, who featured against Liverpool after missing several weeks with MCL damage.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are facing an injury crisis of their own, now missing Gabriel Magalhaes, Riccardo Calafiori, Kai Havertz, Ben White, and Jurrien Timber.
