Novak Djokovic looks to reach the halfway stage of the calendar Grand Slam as he faces Casper Ruud in the French Open final this afternoon.
The Serbian was locked in an epic semi-final clash against Carlos Alcaraz after two sets, but injury to the Spaniard turned that encounter into a procession as Djokovic dropped just two games from that point onwards.
He is a strong favourite to secure a third Roland Garros title, one that would take him to 23 Grand Slams and the outright record, following his success in Melbourne at the start of the year.
Ruud’s route to the final has gone slightly under the radar, but he swept aside Alexander Zverev in the last-four and the 24-year-old features in the French Open final for the second year in a row, having won just six games against Rafael Nadal in last year’s showpiece.
