There are four key cross series contested across the winter months: Exact Cross, X20 Trophy, Telenet Superprestige series and the most important, the World Cup races. The first three are predominantly based in Belgium and although the World Cup has six Belgian rounds it also has races in Ireland, Italy, Spain, France and two in the Netherlands.

Over the past few seasons the spotlight has been hogged by three stellar riders, Tom Pidcock, Wout Van Aert and Mathieu Van der Poel, the so called 'Big Three'. Although they rarely ride all the races or chase the overall competitions when they do turn up they are hard to beat.

Both Van Aert and Van der Poel have now announced their schedules with Van Aert riding 6 events starting with the Superprestige on December 23rd and Van der Poel riding 11 events, starting with the World Cup on December 22nd. Tom Pidcock however has announced that he will give cross a miss this season to concentrate 100% on the road next year.

Cyclocross is, of course, much bigger than just three people though and the dedicated cross riders such as current Belgian champion Eli Iserbyt, the evergreen Lars Van de Harr, and younger talents such as Pim Ronhaar, Joris Nieuwenhuis together with this season's in form man Michael Vanthourenhout will put on one hell of a show as they fight for the win week in, week out.

We've got all the details you need below to figure out which streaming services you'll need to watch Cyclocross from anywhere and potentially for free with a VPN.

FREE Cyclocross live streams

If you live in Italy, Belgium or France then you can look forward to FREE Cyclocross live streams.

That's because the free-to-air Rai Play in Italy, and Sporza in Belgium, and FranceTV in, yes, France all have rights to pieces of the action. They won't all have every race but they're a good place to look and we'll keep this page updated with specific coverage information for upcoming races. You can find out which races Sporza will live stream here.

What's more, for fans based in countries where a broadcaster hasn't picked up the rights to the Cyclocross World Cups, the UCI will stream each World Cup live on its YouTube channel. This includes many non-European countries, so it's worth checking if CX isn't broadcast on television where you are.

Don't worry — you can watch it using a VPN instead. We'll show you how to do that below.

Watch Cyclocross live streams anywhere

It's only natural that you might want to watch a Cyclocross live stream from your home country, but what if you're not there when the event is on?

Look no further than a VPN, or virtual private network. A VPN makes it look as if you're surfing the web from your home country, rather than the one you're in. That means you can access the streaming services you already pay for, from anywhere on Earth. Or anywhere that has an internet connection, at least.

They're totally legal, inexpensive and easy to use. We've tested the best VPN services and our favourite is NordVPN. It's the best on the market:

Using a VPN is incredibly simple.

1. Install the VPN of your choice. As we've said, NordVPN is our favorite.

2. Choose the location you wish to connect to in the VPN app. For instance if you're in the U.S. or U.K. and want to view your usual free Belgian stream, you'd select Belgium from the list.

3. Sit back and enjoy the action. Head the streaming service watch the Cyclocross online. Simple.

The Exact Cross, X20 Trophy and the Telenet Superprestige will be broadcast on FloBikes in the USA and Canada but as yet there has been no broadcaster for the World Cup Races announced. A subscription to FloBikes will set you back US$149.99 / CAN$150 for the year or US$29.99 / CAN$29.99 on a monthly basis.

The Exact Cross, X20 Trophy and the Telenet Superprestige races will also be shown on MAX (from $9.99 a month) with Bleacher Report add-on. The add-on is usually an extra $9.99 a month on top of your Max plan, but it's currently thrown in free and wouldn't expect that to change for ages.

The 2024-25 Cyclocross season so far...

After four rounds of the World Cup Michael Vanthourenhout heads the rankings with 105 points having won two rounds, in Dublin and in Namur. Behind him in second place sits Toon Aerts on 78 points and in third Laurens Sweeck on 67 points. It's still early in the season though and anything can happen to change these positions over the next few weeks.

There have been four rounds of the Super Prestige series with Joran Wyseure and Thibau Nys taking a win each and Laurens Sweeck bagging two wins in the last two races. The lead in the series is a tie between Niels Vandeputte and Lars Van de Haar who sit at the top of the table with 39 points each.

There have also been four rounds of the X20 Trophy, with the wins going to Lars van de Haar in round one, the European Champion Thibau Nys in round two, Niels Vandeputte in round three and this season's in form rider Michael Vanthourenhout in four. Leading the series which is decided on accumulated time is Eli Iserbyt who has a 41 second advantage over Lars van de Haar.

There have again been four rounds of the Exact-cross with Eli Iserbyt winning two and Laurens Sweeck and Lars Van de Haar taking a win each. The other big race so far this season was the European Championships which was won by the super-talented Thibau Nys.

Can I watch Cyclocross on GCN+?

No. Sadly, cycling streaming service GCN+ is now defunct. The service and the app were both shut down at the end of 2023 with Cyclocross rights moved over to Eurosport, Discovery+ and Max. Red Bull TV's Cyclocross coverage has also been discontinued, as has Fubo's.
