The Washington Commanders (4-12) host the Dallas Cowboys (11-5) on Sunday from FedEx Field in the regular-season finale. The Cowboys enter Sunday’s game as a big favorite, looking to clinch the NFC East. Meanwhile, the Commanders are looking at massive changes under new owner Josh Harris, with Sunday expected to be Ron Rivera’s final game as head coach.
The Cowboys and Eagles are tied atop the division, but Dallas needs a win to become NFC East champions and the NFC’s No. 2 seed. If Philadelphia defeats the Giants on Sunday, it doesn’t matter as long as the Cowboys take care of Washington.
This game has a similar feel to last year’s season’s finale. The Cowboys needed to win to clinch the division, but the difference was that they also needed Philadelphia to lose. By halftime, it was clear the Eagles were winning the East, and the Commanders dominated the Cowboys. This time around, Dallas controls its own destiny.
The struggling Commanders are without several starters, as defensive tackle Jonathan Allen and cornerback Kendall Fuller were ruled out on Friday.
