Dmitry Bivol puts his light-heavyweight world title on the line against Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez tonight.
It’s the Russian’s first bout since his huge win over Canelo Alvarez six months ago, beating the biggest name in the sport by unanimous decision on a memorable night in Las Vegas to defend his WBA belt and extend his perfect record to 20-0.
His focus now turns to a mandatory defence against Ramirez, who has been a world champion himself, though that was at super-middleweight three years ago and this is the Mexican’s first shot at a 175lbs world title.

The 31-year-old is unbeaten too though, 44-0 going into the fight, and with 30 of those coming by knockout he has the power to cause Bivol problems should the Russian not be at his best.
On what is a strong card, Chantelle Cameron and Jessica McCaskill fight to become women’s undisputed light-welterweight champion, Zelfa Barrett challenges Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov for the vacant IBF super-featherweight belt, and Galal Yafai, Kal Yafai and Campbell Hatton are among those also in action.
