Newcastle United's sensational form in October has led to three Magpies stars being nominated for the Premier League's Player of the Month award. Miguel Almiron, Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier have all been named on the eight-man shortlist.
Eddie Howe's side catapulted themselves into the Premier League's top four after picking up 16 points from a possible 18 in October. Newcastle recorded thumping victories over Aston Villa, Brentford and Fulham, while earning a statement victory away at Tottenham.
Almiron is surely the favourite for the award after netting six times in October. The Paraguay international could arguably hold his own goal of the month competition after memorable strikes against Everton, Fulham and Villa.

Guimaraes returned from a minor injury setback to deliver consistent displays in midfield. The Brazil international scored twice in the win over Brentford, and also has two assists to his name in Newcastle's recent run.
Trippier continues to captain Howe's side while Jamaal Lascelles remains a substitute, and the January signing has excelled in the division's best defence so far. The Magpies kept three clean sheets in October, while the 32-year-old contributed two assists.
The Newcastle contingent make up just shy of half the nominees, with Manchester City duo Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland, Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, Brighton star Leandro Trossard, and Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka also selected. Voting for October's winner began on Thursday morning and will close at 11am on Friday.
Newcastle fans looking to cast their vote should visit the EA Sports website here, and select their candidate for the award. Almiron has already earned the club's player of the month award for his scintillating form, and the 28-year-old is in contention to make it a double.
