How to turn your beloved pet into a human using ChatGPT

Pet owners are using ChatGPT to turn their pets into humans, evolving the concept of four-legged friends to a whole new level.

Animal lovers have long since loved seeing their pets in different ways, whether that’s cartoonish drawings of beloved pets, immortalising late animals in paintings, or even re-imagining them in medieval-style paintings.

Now, with AI image generators getting more and more powerful, you can get similar effects within seconds by asking ChatGPT – and people are running with it.

Here’s a breakdown of how to turn your pet into a human (at least digitally), as well as some quick prompts to get the ball rolling.

How to turn your pet into a human using ChatGPT

All you need to do to try it out for yourself on your pets is upload or copy a picture of your pet into ChatGPT.

Ask it: “What would my pet look like as a person?” You can also fine-tune with further prompts if you like, such as asking for a realistic style.

The chatbot will then create an image for you. You can still tweak it if you don’t think it’s quite right, such as asking it to change the hair colour, expression, or other details.

The AI tool might ask you some questions, like your pet’s gender, personality, or other features that will help it create a satisfying portrait.

Some other prompts that would help you get some different versions of your pet as a human are:

  • If you want an elegant, modern style, go for: "A stylish humanised version of this pet, as a young adult wearing trendy streetwear, with a warm smile, kind eyes, hair styled neatly, standing in a cozy coffee shop with sunlight streaming in. Use realistic, soft lighting, urban aesthetic/"
  • For a fantasy-style artwork, say: "A humanised version of my pet depicted as a fantasy hero, with long flowing hair resembling the pet's fur, armour with details inspired by their markings, standing confidently in a magical forest — cinematic lighting, detailed fantasy art style."
  • For a vintage portrait, try: "Victorian-era human portrait of this pet, regal and poised, wearing elegant 19th-century attire with subtle textures matching the pet’s fur pattern, seated in an ornate chair, oil painting style, soft brush strokes, rich tones."
