Genshin Impact is previewing its giant new Inazuma region in a bunch of ways ahead of its release next week on the 21st, and I thought this most recent offering they’ve served up is going to be very relevant as you explore the new island.
In short, Genshin Impact is showing us how to solve the new types of world puzzles that will show up in Inazuma, most being electro-based, and unlike anything we’ve seen in Mondstadt or Liyue. Some of these seem to benefit by having electro team members in your party, so dust of Keqing, Beidou, Fischl, Razor, Lisa or your Traveler with their new electro powers, as we’re not getting any Inazuma electro characters just yet in this first patch.
Puzzle 1: The Stones
This is a line of different types of stones (seen above) where you need to connect a current between them. A Discharge Stone shoots out the current, a Relay Stone that you can place conducts it, and you are trying to thread it to the Culmination Stone to claim your prize. In lieu of a Relay Stone, you can also use electro imbued enemies or your own heroes to conduct the current.
Puzzle 2: Lightning Strike Probe
This sundial-looking device can detect where electro energy is. On the base, you can see an arrow pointing in a direction, so you’re trying to get the dial to line up to that point by having electro imbued heroes or enemies in that exact direction.
Puzzle 3: Pattern Cubes
These Cubes rotate when struck, and when their “special sides” are facing each other, they light up. But you need to get the patterns the same, which will require striking them in a certain order. Probably a lot of trial and error here. No electro-based bonuses here, from what I can tell.
Puzzle 4: Sacred Stones and Thunderbearer Mirrors
You will need to adjust the angle of these devices in order to reflect an electrical current to properly bounce off the Mirrors when you strike the Sacred Stones. Kind of similar to the Golden Apple hoop ball puzzles we just had, it seems.
Bonus: The Bake-danuki
Not sure this counts as a puzzle, but this is a new type of “follow the thing” mechanic similar to seelies or those gold hoarding squirrels. You’re supposed to hear music nearby to find the bake-danuki and then follow it. But the catch is that it will change into different animals or objects along the way, making it harder to track. Follow it all the way and earn a prize.
