How to sign up for Girls Aloud - Race for Life for Sarah fundraiser run

Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding tragically died in September 2021 due to breast cancer, at the young age of 39.

Sarah, who was diagnosed with breast cancer amid the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, put up a brave fight against the illness, undergoing a mastectomy and chemotherapy, but sadly succumbed to her illness last year.

Now, Sarah's bandmates Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Cheryl Tweedy are teaming up with Cancer Research for a special event called Race for Life for Sarah.

The charity fundraiser event has been set up in order to raise money for breast cancer research projects, something Sarah herself was passionate about.

Here's what you need to know about Race for Life for Sarah including when it is and how to take part.

Race for Life for Sarah is a 5K race in which participants can choose to run or walk a specified route in an attempt to raise funds for breast cancer research.

Girls Aloud stars Nicola, Cheryl and Nadine all set to be in attendance, while member Kimberley - who can't be in London in person - is taking part virtually.

Announcing the charity event on Instagram, Kimberley wrote: "I have some really amazing news to share. Me and the girls have teamed up with cancer Research UK to raise money for breast cancer research projects and one in particular that Sarah really wanted to help fund.

"There will be a ‘Race For Life For Sarah’ which will take place at Hyde Park on July 24 at 11.30am and everyone is welcome. It’s a 5k race you can run or walk and if you can’t be in London on this date you can take part remotely from wherever you are."

She added that it would be an opportunity to come together to celebrate Sarah and her, while also making "a huge contribution to the future outcomes of those affected by cancer".

When is Race for Life for Sarah and where will it take place?

Race for Life for Sarah is set to take place on Sunday July 24 at Hyde Park in London.

The race will begin at 11.30am, however participants are urged to arrive with plenty of time to spare.
