Many of us are already struggling with the rising expense of energy and food shopping.
As the cost of living crisis continues, millions of Brits are finding themselves tightening the purse strings.
Now Aldi has teamed up with Team GB nutritionist Nigel Mitchell to create a set of nutritious recipes designed to cost less than £1.50 per serving.
Nigel has just returned from the Winter Olympics, where he has been busy working with Team GB’s cross-country ski team - helping them achieve their performance goals through diet and nutrition.
Speaking to the Mirror, he described the ordeal of ensuring participants were following the perfect diet.

He said: "For the recent Winter Olympics, I was working specifically with cross-country skiers on their nutrition and diet plans – making sure they were making the right choices when it comes to food to enhance their performance.
"Although I was technically only responsible for feeding three athletes, it felt more like seven or eight because these guys consume so much energy. So ensuring their diet supports that is key.
"My job would be to go to the Olympic village canteen each day to evaluate what was on offer – before taking it back to the athletes and producing meals that contain all the essential ingredients to support slow-energy release and boost brain energy for them.
"The athletes tend to eat around six times a day, while just like any of us they’d have a snack or two in between, tending to opt for things like cold porridge, rice pudding and nuts - in particular, pistachios because these are particularly good for protein.
Now he's created a range of breakfast and mid-day snack recipes designed to help families keen to keep the costs down.
This includes a mixed-bean chilli, superfood porridge and chocolate berry mess.
Nigel added: "While there’s nothing wrong with having a treat from time to time, it’s also really important that we are aware of the link between our diets and mood to ensure we incorporate foods that can have a positive impact too.
"That’s part of the reason I’ve paired up with Aldi to create the ‘Happy Recipes’ - five nutrient-rich and well-rounded recipes that all include ingredients I regularly feed into the nutrition plans of Team GB athletes.
"All the ingredients in these recipes can be found in your local store – showing we don’t have to be an Olympian to eat like one.
