How to pre-load Warzone 2 on PS5, PS4, Xbox and PC ahead of launch

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 pre-loads are live right now on consoles and PC ahead of the game's launch, saving you valuable hours on launch day.

With Call of Duty: Warzone 2 launching on a weekday – Wednesday, November 16 at 6pm GMT / 1pm ET / 10am PT to be precise – you're not going to want to waste your evening waiting for the game to download and install. Happily, as is usually the case with Call of Duty games in recent years, you can pre-load Warzone 2.0 ahead of the official release.

Pre-loads have already gone live on all platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Battle.net and Steam. So barring any huge day-one patches, you'll be ready to dive in as soon as you're done at work, school, or other places of adult responsibility. Before you drop into Al Mazrah, make sure to look at the best Warzone 2 loadouts to give you an edge at launch, and your fellow squad members will thank you for it later.

You'll want to make sure you have enough storage space to accommodate Warzone 2.0's file size before you do anything. Each platform has its own storefront, with instructions and file sizes differing between them. So here's how to pre-load Warzone 2.0 wherever you'll be playing it.

How to pre-load Warzone 2 on PS5 and PS4

To pre-load Warzone 2 on PS5 or PS4, simply head over to the PlayStation Store. The link will take you directly to the game's store page, but if not, just search for Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, and then select download. The title wasn't appearing on storefronts initially, and in some cases, it's sporting the Modern Warfare 2 icon, which confuses things. If you're only getting results for Modern Warfare, click through to install, and you'll see a Warzone 2 add-on.

If you already have Modern Warfare 2 in your library, Warzone 2.0 has already been pre-loaded and you don't need to do anything. The games share assets, so if you don't have it, you'll be made to download the MW2 base game, plus the Warzone 2.0 add-on.

The current Warzone 2.0 file size on PlayStation is 49.76GB, but we expect the Season 1 update will inflate that number significantly across all platforms.

How to pre-load Warzone 2 on Xbox

To pre-load Warzone 2 on Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, head over to the Microsoft Store. If that doesn't take you directly to the game's page, just search Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and select download. As with the PlayStation instructions above, if you've already downloaded Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2.0 will already be pre-loaded automatically.

Based on current info, the Xbox Warzone 2.0 file size is around 95.2GB, following the Season 1 update that went live on November 16.

How to pre-load Warzone 2 on PC (Battle.net and Steam)

Just like the situation on console, if you've already downloaded Modern Warfare 2 on your PC platform of choice, Warzone 2.0 will be pre-loaded automatically and you should have received an update saying as much.

Otherwise, you can find Warzone 2.0 on Steam or Battle.net via those links, or just search for it in the storefronts and select download.

The current Warzone 2.0 file size on Steam is around 125GB, which looks about right. The current Warzone 2.0 file size on Battle Net is 85.2GB, following the Season 1 update that went live on November 16, so another update might be due later today.
