How to get a meal at Cardiff's popular Pasture restaurant without waiting for months

Pasture is one of Cardiff's most popular restaurants and one which you'd struggle to book for even months in advance.

Spaces at the restaurant are booked-up for Saturday nights well into November, although there are currently some spaces available to book for weekdays, and it's worth keeping an eye on their website for cancellations.

Opening its doors in Cardiff in 2020, the restaurant is famous for its steaks, which are dry aged for a minimum of 35 days, and have a range of cuts to choose from.

But if you're keen to sample the restaurant's top-quality food, without having to plan months in advance, there is a way.

The restaurant offers a terrace and bar menu for walk-ins only.

While the restaurant's signature steaks are not on the menu, there's still plenty to choose from. The menu includes a selection of small plates, from sourdough from the Angel Bakery in Abergavenny to short rib croquettes, and pig fritters.

For those looking for something more akin to Pasture's a la carte menu, their 45 day dry aged burger is also available on the terrace menu.

The burger comes with 'baconaise,' a 'secret sauce', ogleshield cheese, crispy shallots, house pickles, and chips.

Small plates range from £3.95 for dripping chips to £7.95 for crispy squid, while the burger is priced at £14.95.

Dessert is also available on the terrace menu, in the form of a sticky toffee pudding served with coconut ice cream and a red miso caramel sauce.

If you're concerned about being exposed to the elements, have no fear - the menu also comes with a selection of 'outdoor essentials.'

To help you brave the Welsh weather in the colder months, you an purchase an extra large 'snuggle blanket,' an auto-opening and windproof umbrella, or a 'low profile' Pasture cap.

So, while Pasture may be among one of the toughest places to book in Cardiff, you can still sample some of the restaurant's delicious dishes from their terrace menu.
