Most people in England will no longer be able to access free lateral flow tests as the Government has announced an end to universal testing from this Friday, April 1. A few groups will still be entitled to free tests, including frontline NHS staff, but most members of the public who want or need to carry out a test from April onwards, will have to pay to do so.
For those that aren’t eligible for free testing, a number of retailers have already confirmed that they will be offering lateral flow tests with prices ranging between £2 and £5 for an individual test.
Superdrug for example is selling tests from the same brand as was previously available via the NHS – Flowflex Sars-Cov-2 Antigen Rapid Self Test – for just £1.99. Those shopping for their tests online can grab one for free if they make the purchase via a cashback site – TopCashback.
The money-saving platform is currently offering its new members 100 per cent cashback of up to £10 at Superdrug. This means that you can spend up to £10 and get your money back in full. All you have to do is make your purchase via this link.
How to get a free test:
- Head to the new member deal page on TopCashback – topcashback.co.uk/superdrug-promo/
- Simply click the "Get Cashback Now" button to go to the Superdrug website
- Make your purchase – one test is £1.99 so you can get up to five for free
- Shortly after you've made your purchase you will see the transaction in your TopCashback account. This is usually within 14 days of purchase.
- This offer will be live throughout April, please note that terms and conditions apply
