How to get 10 days off work by booking just 4 days of annual leave for King's Coronation

A Bank Holiday season like never before is fast approaching and Brits need to act now if they want to seriously make the most of it.

Thanks to the King's Coronation, May is jam-packed with time off as the summer kicks-off in style.

But there are ways to properly maximise time away from work by simply using just a few days of your holiday allowance.

Providing you work Monday to Friday, combining the Bank Holidays boosters with the days surrounding them means you can take larger blocks of time off to do something better, all while missing the least amount of working days.

In fact, you can get ten days off using just four days' leave thanks to the royal ceremony, which will take place on Saturday, May 6, but brings a holiday on Monday, May 8.

With Monday, May 1 also a day off, it's a change not to be missed.

Then before long the Spring Bank Holiday arrives and once again offers a juicy opportunity - you can get nine days out of the office with just four days allowance used up.

Planning carefully can help you in a big way - but you need to get your skates on.

Unless you have a very relaxed boss, most don't take kindly to short notice leave requests - so if you haven't got your dates in order and are happy to battle HR, then what are you waiting for!

If you're too late to take advantage of May's avalanche of national holidays, then go and grab your diary.

It's quite a wait for the next chance with Monday, August 28 saying goodbye to the summer.

The final Bank Holidays in 2023 of course come in December.

You guessed it - you can get ten days off by booking the dates in between Christmas and New Year as Monday, January 1 will also be a holiday.
