How to enable Twitch drops for Hogwarts Legacy and when they start

It’s Hogwarts Legacy week, as one of the most hotly anticipated games of the year is finally just days away from general release. The Harry Potter spin-off drops for PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S and PC on Friday (February 10), while gamers who opted for the Deluxe Edition are already able to take their first steps at the famous school of witchcraft and wizardry.

Developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. under the Portkey Games label, the action role-playing-game puts players in the shoes of a new fifth-year student at Hogwarts in the 1800s. According to the official synopsis, the character “holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart.”

Like with many games these days, Hogwarts Legacy will likely be heavily featured on live streaming platform Twitch. Twitch has 31 million daily active users, according to Demand Sage, and there are already countless live channels dedicated to streaming the open-world video game just hours after it was first made available.

A popular feature amongst Twitch users is Twitch Drops, which is a way to get in-game rewards simply by watching streams of games on the platform. Drops are unlocked by watching any participating channel for a certain amount of time set by the game developer.

Once you have met the time requirement, you will be able to claim the Drops in-game reward. Hogwarts Legacy publisher Warner Bros. Games has confirmed that there are several cosmetic items up for grabs as Drops rewards:

  • Silver Dragon-Eyed Spectacles – Facewear Cosmetic.
  • Urchin Hat – Headwear Cosmetic
  • Carmine Lightning Bolt Scarf – Neckwear Cosmetic
  • Lilac Ensemble – Outfit Cosmetic

Each reward is gained by spending 30 minutes watching a stream from any streamer with Hogwarts Legacy Drops enabled.
