Spotify fans can now see their listening habits illustrated with a colourful pie chart, thanks to a new third-party app.
The Spotify pie chart app analyses your music taste and distils the genres you listen to the most and transforms it into a pie.
Music fans have been excitedly sharing their results on social media, proudly showing off their favourite genres and artists.

But how can you create your very own Spotify pie chart? Find out below.
How to create your Spotify pie chart
To “bake your monthly genre pie,” head to https://huangdarren1106.github.io/.
It will ask you to log in, and you will need to give the app permission to access your Spotify account data and activity. You can remove the app’s access to this data after you make your pie chart.
The app will generate your pie chart that will reflect the top genres you’ve listened to in the past month, plus a list of your most-listened-to artists.
If you hover over a pie chart slice, it will let you know which artists from that genre you listen to.
The Spotify pie chart app was created by University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) student Darren Huang (@drnhng on Instagram).
Huang said on Instagram that more than half a million people had used the app within its first two days.
How to create a Spotify receipt
Receiptify is an app that analyses your most-listened-to songs of either the last month, six months, or year, and presents it as a shopping receipt. It itemises your top songs and replaces pounds and pennies with minutes and seconds.
Receiptify was made by Michelle Liu, an Information Systems and Computer Science student at Carnegie Mellon University.
When does Spotify Wrapped come out?
Spotify has its own internal analytical feature—Spotify Wrapped, which is released towards the end of the year. The music streaming app analyzes its users listening habits and presents them with a slideshow, summarising the genres, artists, and even the audio aura of their favourite music of the year.
