How To Choose Eyewear According To Your Face Shape With Linda Farrow

Linda Farrow campaign Ian Lim @milianeyes

London-based eyewear brand Linda Farrow has been serving up expertly crafted and super stylish sunglasses and optical frames since 1970. After all, Farrow was one of the first designers to take a fashionable approach to this category — more than eyewear, frames were seen to be an extension of your personal style. And she wasn’t wrong.

Having undergone a relaunch in 2003 by her son Simon Jablon, the brand pillars of originality, innovation, and luxury are still going strong and as we look to spring and sunnier climes it’s a great excuse to stock up.

With this rich heritage and know-how, Simon Jablon, the Owner and Creative Director shares his advice when it comes to choosing frames to suit your face shape.

Oblong: An oblong face is longer than it is wide with a slight narrowing at the jaw. Choose softer shapes and frames with tall lenses tall such as square d-frames, rounded base shapes and aviators. Linda Farrow styles such as the ‘Amber’, ‘Calthorpe’ and ‘Alma’ are perfect for this.

Rectangular: A rectangular face is a uniform width, taller than it is wide with a squared jawline. Choose round oversized frames, and soft curved shapes. Linda Farrow styles such as the ‘Kew’, ‘Calthorpe’ and ‘Abel’ are great choices!

Round: A round face has softer angles with slightly wider cheekbones and an equally wide forehead and jaw. Choose geometric or rectangular frames that are wider than they are tall. Linda Farrow styles such as the ‘Daisy’, ‘Amber’ and ‘Lola’ work really well for this face shape.

Diamond: A diamond face is widest at the cheekbones with a pointed jawline and narrow forehead. Choose glasses with curves and soft edges that aren’t too wide or oversized such as the ‘Tracy’, ‘Loni’ or ‘Simon’ frames all available at Linda Farrow.

Oval: An oval face is the most versatile to fit, with slightly wider cheekbones and a gentle narrowing at the forehead and jaw. Most frames will suit the oval face, choose frames that are proportional to your features and not too oversized.

Heart: A heart face is widest at the forehead and gradually narrows through to the jaw. Choose angular or cat eye frames that are wider at the top than the bottom of the frame. Linda Farrow styles such as the best-selling ‘Dunaway’, ‘Silvie’ and ‘Ace’ reflect these shapes perfectly.
