How to cheat and get away with it - according to a married 40-year-old man

An infidelity consultant has shared his tips on how to successfully cheat without getting caught. Dark Horse from CheatersHandbook.com has drawn on his own experiences of being a serial cheater for over a decade.

The married 40-something-year-old said: "Leading a double life is an art form. It's not about fleeting encounters or meaningless flings. It's about maintaining multiple relationships and doing so without raising any eyebrows. And it certainly helps if you're always striving to be a better companion."

He has shares his tips on how to manage and balance the two worlds.

1. Keep Your Secrets

If you want to be successful at cheating, you need to practise the art of discretion.

Dark Horse said: "The first rule of leading a double life is never to spill the beans. As the saying goes, loose lips sink ships. It's thrilling to lead a double life, but you must keep it entirely to yourself. If you feel the need to share, start your own blog or set up an anonymous account on social media platforms and share away. But remember, the more people who know, the more likely your secret life is to be exposed."

2. Leave No Trace

You'll also want to cover your tracks on your phone.

"My partner uses my phone all the time. Not out of suspicion, but out of convenience. So, I make sure to never use common messaging apps. I stick to the messaging features on dating sites or use certain apps that my partner wouldn't think to check. And if these apps don't auto-delete messages, I manually delete them. This way, even if my partner uses my phone, there's no trace of my other life."

3. Cash and Crypto are King

It's not just your mobile you need to think about, you'll want to avoid financial traces too. Dark says the best way to do that is to use cash, or crypto

"I always use cash or cryptocurrency to pay for things. You don't want to raise eyebrows when the credit card statement arrives. A mysterious charge on your credit card can lead to uncomfortable questions and suspicions. So, to avoid this, always pay in cash or use cryptocurrency."

4. No Photographic Evidence

Avoid digital footprints by making sure you don't have photographic evidence.

"As tempting as it might be to keep pictures, they can serve as evidence. So, no matter how attractive they are, refrain from taking pictures or screenshots. These could end up being the smoking gun that exposes your double life."

5. Stick to Your Routine

Maintain normalcy by sticking to a routine so you don't arouse suspicion.

"I have a set routine that I follow religiously. I never break it. My partner is smart, and any deviation from my routine would raise suspicions. So, whether it's going to the gym or having a boys' night out, I stick to my routine and ensure that my other life doesn't interfere with it."

6. Don't Get Obsessed: Keep Your Emotions in Check

"Leading a double life can be exhilarating and addictive. But don't let the excitement make you act out of character and raise suspicions. It's important to keep your emotions in check and not let your other life take over your emotions."

7. Keep Things Separate: Don't Mix Your Lives

"When you meet someone new, you naturally adapt to their style of intimacy. But it's crucial not to bring these new techniques home to your partner, as it could raise suspicions. It's important to keep your two worlds separate and not let one influence the other."

8. Manage Your Emotions: Stay in Control

"Breakups are a part of leading a double life. They can affect your mood significantly. You have to learn how to manage your state and act normal around your partner. This might involve finding ways to cope with the emotional turmoil, such as meditation or seeking out a new partner. Remember, your goal is to lead a double life without letting it affect your primary relationship."

9. Always Be Prepared: Plan Ahead

"I always keep a spare set of clothes in my car. That way, I can freshen up after an encounter and return home looking exactly as I did when I left. This simple trick helps maintain the illusion that I'm sticking to my routine, even when I'm not."

10. Use a Burner Phone: Maintain Your Privacy

"If you don't want to tell your other partner that you're in a relationship, it's best to use a burner phone. Keep it at your office or in your car. This way, you can maintain your privacy and avoid any potential conflicts that might arise if your other partner discovers your relationship."

11. Don't Get Too Close to Home: Keep a Safe Distance

"I once made the mistake of dating someone who lived just a few blocks away. It was convenient, but it led to some awkward encounters after the relationship ended. So, it's important to keep a safe distance from your other life to avoid any potential run-ins."

12. Know When Not to Do It: Understand Your Limits

"If you don't have the discipline to follow the above, then leading a double life might not be for you. It requires practice and discipline. And let's be honest, most partners will not tolerate infidelity. What's more important to you, a moment of thrill or a lifetime of trust?"

"Leading a double life is about more than just not getting caught. It's about not arousing suspicion or even acting suspiciously. Partners have strong intuition, and the minute they suspect something, it's the beginning of the end.

Your job isn't to not get caught, it's to not act in a way that arouses suspicion with your partner. Of course, it goes without saying that you don't want to get caught in a compromising situation. That would be terrible and too many feelings would get hurt. You have to treat leading a double life with the same discipline you would a business."
