Manchester United Women host Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Saturday as Women’s Super League action returns.
United remain undefeated at Old Trafford to date. Ella Toone helped her team to a 2-0 victory against West Ham behind closed doors in 2021 and they won 3-1 against Everton in March this year to the delight of 20,000 adoring fans.
Toone also starred in England’s 1-0 victory over Austria in the Euro 2022 opening game at Old Trafford in July so the stadium holds many happy memories for her.
Discussing Old Trafford, Toone told MUTV : “I always go on about it, obviously. Growing up supporting the club, I know what a special stadium it is, and I’ve been lucky to play on it a few times now.
“I always tell them [our new players who haven’t experienced it yet] it’s like a carpet out there so to just go out and enjoy it.
“But occasions like this, where we can have so many more fans in the stadiums and our families and friends watching us at such a big stadium, it’s going to be amazing, and we can’t wait.”
