Klay Thompson made his return to the Warriors’ lineup in early January after missing two full seasons after suffering ACL and Achilles injuries.
His start to the season was rough (as expected) as he knocked off two years worth of rust to the tune of 32 percent shooting over his first six games. Klay’s last six have looked a lot different, though, with Thompson shooting 48 percent from the field and converting making 3.5 threes per contest.
And just as he’s heating up, he’ll have to cool off for a moment. The Warriors are resting Thompson on Wednesday against the Utah Jazz in order to manage his workload after returning from the prior injuries.

Klay Thompson will miss tomorrow’s game in Utah. He will play at home on Thursday against the Knicks. Warriors still won’t play him on both nights of a back-to-back.

This game just got a little bit more interesting. The Warriors are already without Draymond Green, so the loss of Thompson for the game is a substantial one.
They’ll have to find a way to shore up the perimeter defense against Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson if they want to steal a win on the road. The Jazz (-1.5) are already going to bleed points to Golden State with Rudy Gobert out of the lineup, so expect that this game will surpass Tipico‘s 223.5 points total.
There are some great player props to get in on as well. With Klay out, and the Utah defense is presumably going to be bad without Rudy Gobert in the lineup. Andrew Wiggins’ prop at 17.5 points feels like an easy over. So does Donovan Mitchell’s 25.5-point line.

The Warriors are also 2-0 against the Jazz this season no matter who has been in or out of the lineup on both sides. Seems to be a matchup that Utah just can’t figure out.
Golden State moneyline (+102) is the cherry on top.
