Luka Doncic is reportedly going to give it a go for Saturday’s Game 4 in the NBA Playoffs between the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz.
This development is significant for the series being that the Mavs hold a 2-1 lead, despite Doncic having not played since suffering a calf strain in the team’s final regular-season game. And with his probable return on Saturday, it changes the way you should bet.
If you haven’t already done so, feel confident taking the Mavs to win the series. Even in a reduced role, Luka’s sheer presence will give Dallas even more of an advantage than they’ve already proven to have. Hopefully, you caught the dip in odds earlier this week when the Jazz, up 1-0, were the betting favorite to win the series. It’s now Dallas (-230 at Tipico Sportsbook) to advance.
There’s increasing optimism Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic will play vs. Utah in Game 4 today, sources tell ESPN. The plan is that his minutes will be limited in his first game back since suffering a calf strain on April 10.

On the Luka watch: I’m told it’s not even a gametime decision at this point. Barring an unexpected setback in warmups the plan is for Luka to play limited minutes…

But back to Luka. No, I don’t foresee him being his usual self, and the word “limited” has been thrown around repeatedly when referencing his minutes and availability for Game 4. So maybe stay away from his 24.5-point player prop and, instead, focus on his 6.5-assist prop. And if we’re really getting specific perhaps the strained calf forces Doncic into settling for more threes and his over/under of 2.5 triples becomes enticing.
Save your players’ points bet for Jalen Brunson (21.5), who is averaging 32.0 points through this round’s three games. Everything else with the Mavs is a toss-up as far as I’m concerned.

Overall, it’s great to see Luka back on the court and we’ll wait and what kind of impact how the young superstar has on the series as he’s reintegrated.
