Big Brother is making its return to our screens after nearly four years, with a shock teaser announced on yesterday's Love Island 2022 series finale.
Big Brother originally started on Channel 4 back in 2000, and ran on that channel for 10 years until it moved over to Channel 5 in 2010.
Channel 5 retired the show back in 2018, but now ITV has announced it will be returning on its ITV2 and ITVX channels.
Details about when the new series will take place, who will present it and if the rules will be different are still yet to be confirmed.
But what we do know is... Big Brother is back in 2023!
What if you want to be on the ITV2 reality show? We take a look at how you can apply.
How to apply for Big Brother on ITV2
Applications for the new series of ITV2's Big Brother, arriving in 2023, are not yet open.
Although when they do, it is expected that applications will be made through ITV's website, in a similar fashion to the Love Island process.
About the hunt for contestants in the Big Brother house, ITV has said: "A new cast of carefully selected housemates, from all walks of life, will take up residence in the world’s most famous reality TV home for up to six weeks, with cameras capturing their every move, and the nation following every twist and turn."
Previous application processes have been based on the upload of a 60-second video, shared on social media, as well as a form on the broadcaster's website.
Producers will use the video to determine if you've got what it takes to become a TV star.
In the past you have had to be over 18 years old and live in the UK.
What has ITV said about the return of Big Brother?
Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning & Acquisitions and Controller for ITV2, ItvBe and CITV, said:
"This refreshed, contemporary new series of Big Brother will contain all the familiar format points that kept viewers engaged and entertained the first time round, but with a brand new look and some additional twists that speak to today’s audience."
"We’re beyond excited to bring this iconic series to ITV2 and ITVX where it should especially engage with our younger viewers."
ITV confirmed the iconic Big Brother house will have a new and contemporary feel, too.
With the success of Love Island, the channel will be hoping for similar viewership when the return of the original reality television show hits ITV2.
How was the new series of Big Brother announced?
