The January transfer window was far quieter for Manchester United than the summer in which they spent more than £200m.
Erik ten Hag's only new additions were loan signings, with Wout Weghorst, Jack Butland and Marcel Sabitzer all arriving at Old Trafford. There were also a number of departures, with five leaving on loan after Cristiano Ronaldo - whose contract was terminated in November - was unveiled by his new club shortly after the turn of the year.
But how have those to leave got on in their new surroundings? Here, Mirror Football takes a closer look at what each of them has been up to since leaving United either permanently or temporarily.
Cristiano Ronaldo
While Ronaldo's contract was brought to an early end in November, it wasn't until January that the Portugal international made his debut for his new club. The veteran spoke about having offers from Europe, but decided Saudi Arabia and Al-Nassr was where his future should lie.
He was forced to serve a suspension before making his bow, thanks to an incident which occurred during his United stint, and failed to score in either of his first two games. Since then, though, the forward has made up for lost time.

Ronaldo has nine goals in 10 Al-Nassr appearances, with all of those goals - including a pair of hat-tricks - coming in the Saudi Pro League. He also netted for Portugal in both of their Euro 2024 qualifiers in March, scoring braces in wins over Liechtenstein and Luxembourg.
Di'Shon Bernard
Young centre-back Bernard made his Man Utd debut in 2019, playing 90 minutes in a Europa League game against Astana, but hasn't added to that one appearance. A January loan to Portsmouth was agreed with first-team football in mind, though things haven't gone to plan.
Bernard made his Pompey debut against Barnsley in February, playing 90 minutes in that game and in a defeat against Plymouth the following week. While used in the middle during his time in United's youth set-up, he played on the right of Portsmouth's back four.
The 22-year-old hasn't started a game since, with John Mousinho's side picking up results in his absence. Summer signing Joe Rafferty has been a fixture at right-back, with January arrival Ryley Towler partnering captain Sean Raggett in the middle, and Bernard has mostly been left on the bench.
Charlie McNeill
A hotshot at youth level, McNeill's loan move to Newport County allowed him to get a first taste of senior football. The striker scored three goals against league opposition in the EFL trophy, but has found things tougher since moving to Rodney Parade.
The 19-year-old was one of two strikers to join on loan at the end of the window, along with Middlesbrough youngster Calum Kavanagh. However, he has been in and out of Graham Coughlan's starting XI as they look to drag themselves up the table.
McNeill scored his first senior goal on March 18 as Newport beat Tranmere. With nine games left for the League Two side, he'll want to add to that effort.
Charlie Savage
Like Bernard, Savage made his senior debut in Europe. The young midfielder, son of former Man Utd academy star Robbie, earned minutes in the 2021-22 Europa League against Young Boys.
After a run of games for United's under-21 side in the first half of the season, he moved on loan to Forest Green Rovers for the second half of the campaign. The teenager scored his first goal for Duncan Ferguson's side on March 11 before impressing in a win over Sheffield Wednesday at the end of the month.
"What a win vs Sheffield Wednesday today, enjoyed that one," Savage tweeted after the weekend win. It was a first victory since mid-December for the League One strugglers, who still have work to do to claw themselves off the bottom of the table.
Shola Shoretire
Young forward Shoretire trained with United's senior players in the early part of the season, even making the bench for games against Aston Villa and Real Sociedad in November. However, after failing to add to his five first-team appearances, he was allowed to join Bolton on loan.
Ian Evatt's side have been flying high in League One this term, so it won't have been easy for Shoretire to break into the side. He has earned plenty of minutes, though, starting a number of games for the Trotters and registering his first two assists in a February win at Peterborough.
“There are a lot of games left," Shoretire told club media after he won two penalties in that 5-0 victory. "The main focus is to win but a goal would be brilliant."
Axel Tuanzebe
Tuanzebe's previous loans have been a mixed bag, with the defender previously winning promotion with Aston Villa but struggling for minutes at Napoli. The 25-year-old is out of contract at United in the summer, but is spending the remainder of the current campaign on loan at Stoke.
The former England under-21 international had missed the first half of the season with injury and was eased into the picture with Alex Neil's side. However, his three starts have seen the Potters go unbeaten against promotion-chasing Blackburn, Middlesbrough and Norwich.
"He’s been really good, settled in really quickly and it’s given us lads a bit more security in terms of numbers at the back, where were light," centre-back partner Ben Wilmot said (via the MEN ). "We always felt we were one or two injuries away from being really short. It’s relieved the pressure a little bit and allowed us to rotate. Axel has come in and played well. I enjoy playing with him."
