How the cancellation of Bills-Bengals game affects Dolphins

Earlier in the week, the NFL suspended the Monday night matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills after Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field.

While there’s been positive news surrounding Hamlin’s status, there wasn’t much information from the league regarding what would happen with the contest that wasn’t finished.

On Thursday, the NFL announced that the game was being canceled, essentially meaning it didn’t happen. That outcome may not have an impact on whether or not the Miami Dolphins get into the postseason, it may affect where they go if they do.

If Miami makes the playoffs and the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday, the Dolphins will take on the Bills in Orchard Park, New York.

However, if the Chiefs fall to the Raiders, Miami would end up going to Arrowhead.

Obviously, the Dolphins need to focus on their own game and getting into the postseason, but it’s smart to know what could happen if things do fall their way.
