How the Boston Celtics beat the Lakers in Kristaps Porzingis’ return

In a holiday basketball showdown between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers, the Celtics emerged victorious with a 126-115 win on Monday night, led by a stellar performance from Jayson Tatum and the impactful return of Kristaps Porzingis to the Celtics after a short absence due to calf tightness.

Porzingis’ efficient post-up play and rim protection were instrumental in slowing Lakers star LeBron James, and his presence on the floor significantly impacts spacing for Boston. The Latvian center’s presence allows Boston to consistently find great shots instead of just good shots. On the other end of the court, Los Angeles’ lack of shooting and spacing made it easy for the Celtics’ defense to limit LeBron and help to contain Anthony Davis.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast weighed in on the win for Boston vs. their old rival on their most recent episode.
