It has been adopted as an anthem by Nottingham Forest fans in recent weeks as the team have been pushing at the top end of the Championship table.
And it seems *that* Depeche Mode song has gone down just as well in the Reds dressing room, too.
‘I Just Can’t Get Enough’ has boomed around the City Ground after the likes of wins over arch rivals Derby County and FA Cup holders Leicester City, while it also got an outing at Blackburn Rovers after one supporter sneaked a speaker into the stadium.
It has only added to some outstanding atmospheres at games as Steve Cooper’s side chase a top-six spot - and the hope is it will get an outing again this weekend, when Forest host Bristol City.
“I love it,” defender Steve Cook grinned. “I was really disappointed we didn’t win against Stoke, because I love walking around with it playing afterwards.
“It’s really enjoyable. At the start of the game, walking out, I feel extremely proud wearing the shirt. And afterwards, when we’ve won, walking around is spine-tingling.
“You can feel a buzz - the songs after we’ve won and walking on to the pitch. It is special.
“That’s why you want to be out there.
“The fans were such a big miss for everyone during Covid. Now they’ve got that positive side, we’re winning games and you can really feel around the city there’s a bit of a buzz.
“You just feel good about yourself, and I’m sure supporters do, because they are such a proud bunch. It is such a sporting city that if your team’s not doing well, you’re not going to be walking around as happy.”
Cook has barely been at the City Ground for a couple of months after arriving on a free transfer from Bournemouth in January, after a decade-long spell on the south coast.
But he says he has quickly settled in at Forest amid a positive start to his time at the club.
“I do feel settled here. I’ve really loved moving up here and throwing myself in,” said the centre-back.
“I’ve loved being a part of such a famous club. Walking out, especially at the home matches, and feeling the atmosphere and the energy, I’ve absolutely loved it.
“It always helps when the club is doing well and we’re getting the performances right and results on the pitch.
“It’s been a very good start to my time here, but at the moment it is just a start.
“It definitely feels like I’ve settled in. I’ve loved every day that I’ve been here. I’ve really enjoyed playing for the club. Obviously it helps when you’re winning games and everything is so positive, but I’ve loved it.
“I’ve loved being a Nottingham Forest player and playing in front of the crowd here.
“I do feel like I’ve been here a long, long time. That’s really helped me, because I’m living away from my family.”
