Richarlison impact
Antonio Conte and Cristian Stellini always had a decision to make in regards to their Tottenham attack to take on Chelsea following Son Heung-min's goal against West Ham last Sunday. Named on the bench after a poor run of form, the South Korean managed to get his name on the scoresheet four minutes after his introduction after linking up well with Harry Kane.
Richarlison, who started in his place, put in the work in attack but things didn't quite go for him in the final third, notably failing to really test Lukasz Fabianski with two decent openings on goal. Potentially looking like Son would come straight back into the side in his teammate's place, Conte and Stellini instead elected to keep faith with Richarlison alongside Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane.
The fact that Stellini mentioned in his pre-match press conference that Son "had a problem that he bring with him for a bit of time" and that the change was about the condition of the players, it perhaps wasn't that much of a shock that the 30-year-old was not in the XI again with some big games on the horizon. As was the case last week, very little fell Richarlison's way in the first half but he did have an immediate impact straight after the restart with a sweeping pass to Kulusevski which led to Oliver Skipp's opener.

It was a key pass from the Brazilian and it proved crucial to the final result with Tottenham coming out on top with a 2-0 win. The Brazilian didn't get the full 90 minutes in the tank after his 89th minute exit but he impressed with plenty of hard work and endeavour to cause problems for the Chelsea defence.
Romero embarrasses Havertz
Having had very little to cheer about inside the opening 20 minutes of the contest with Chelsea very much on top, Cristian Romero gave the home faithful something to talk about after some extremely cool play at the back. It came at the expense of Chelsea's Kai Havertz as the centre-back embarrassed the German international.
Rather than allowing the ball to trickle out of play for a goal kick, Romero elected to maintain possession and pick out Emerson Royal who was a matter of yards away. With Havertz in his way, Romero nonchalantly flicked the ball between the attacker's legs and straight to Emerson.
It was cool as you like in such a dangerous position outside the area and Tottenham fans certainly approved as the World Cup winner was given a huge cheer. Romero was a constant thorn in Chelsea's side throughout with plenty of physical play at the back to frustrate them.
Skipp reaction speaks volumes
Skipp is going to find it extremely hard to top his first ever goal for Tottenham Hotspur. Waiting all his life for the moment to arrive after progressing from the academy to the first team, it was one to remember for the England Under-21 international with a stunning effort from distance.
The goal came inside the first 30 seconds of the second half following a fast start from the Lilywhites which resulted in Emerson Royal seeing a shot saved by Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Chelsea defence did manage to clear the ball after the goalkeeper couldn't keep hold of the effort, with Skipp outmuscling Joao Felix and unleashing a powerful drive that crashed in off the underside of the crossbar.
It sparked pandemonium inside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, although quite a few supporters missed it with a number of empty seats in the ground seconds after the restart. Rushing off to the far corner after giving Spurs the lead, Skipp was joined by all of his teammates bar Fraser Forster as they came over to celebrate the moment.
You could tell by their reaction just how pleased they were for the youngster as he opened his Tottenham account in style. Breaking from midfield and having yards in front of him not long after, Spurs fans urged Skipp to shoot once again but he turned down the opportunity despite his eyes undoubtedly lighting up once again.
Porro takes on new role
Pedro Porro has had to be very patient over the past fortnight with minutes just not coming his way since his Tottenham bow away at Leicester City. An unused substitute in the AC Milan and West Ham games, the Spaniard was finally handed a bit more playing time in the final few minutes of the London derby vs Chelsea.
Taking the place of Richarlison, the January signing took on a new role in the Spurs side as he finished the match in the front three with Emerson Royal, who performed very well again, operating just behind him. While it was good for Porro to make his first appearance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Arnaut Danjuma may have raised his eyebrows at the substitution given the position his fellow teammate took up.
The Netherlands international himself has had to bide his time on the bench with limited minutes coming his way and it may actually have been the ideal chance to give him some playing time in attack. That wasn't to be, though, and Danjuma will instead have to wait until Wednesday when he could possibly come into the starting XI against Sheffield United in the FA Cup.
Spurs send warning to Newcastle
Tottenham fans have had to wait some time to get the better of Chelsea in the Premier League. Last beating the Blues at Wembley in November 2018, the Lilywhites registered their first win over their London rivals at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 win.
Having capitalised on Newcastle United's defeat against Liverpool last weekend to move ahead of them into the final Champions League place, Conte's men extended that lead to four points courtesy of their latest win. The result wouldn't have gone down well on Tyneside, although everyone of a Newcastle United persuasion will have had two eyes focused firmly on their Carabao Cup final against Manchester United later in the day.
Newcastle do have two games in hand over Spurs but the extra fixtures they have could quite easily catch up with them at the business end of the season when the matches come thick and fast. All Spurs can do is win games at present, something which they are doing as they eye up another Champions League finish.
