Eminem has revealed he is going to be a grandfather, announcing in a video that his daughter Hailie Jade is pregnant.
The US rapper shared the news in the video to his song Temporary, the fourth single from his album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace), on Thursday.
The video to the song, which features frequent collaborator Skylar Grey, shows a montage of photos of Eminem and Hailie together as she grows up.
Hailie has frequently featured in the rapper’s lyrics as he publicly wrestled with fame, fatherhood, expectations and his own health problems.
“Yeah, so Hailie Jade, I wrote you this song,” he raps on Temporary. “To help you cope with life now that I'm gone.”
In the video she hands Eminem a hoodie with the word “Grandpa” and the number one emblazoned on the back.
The shocked rapper, real name Marshall Mathers, holds an ultrasound photograph to the camera to confirm the news.
Social media influencer Jade later confirmed her pregnancy on Instagram, sharing a picture with her husband alongside the words: “Mom & dad est 2025”.
How old is Eminem?
Becoming a grandad might have been unexpected for Eminem, judging by his reaction in the video.
He is 51 years old and was born on October 17, 1972. The rapper, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, has twice been married and twice divorced to Kimberly Anne Scott.
They were married from 1999 to 2001 and then briefly again in 2006.

The 31-year-old was adopted by Eminem when she was a child. She is the rapper’s niece and the biological daughter of Dawn Scott, the twin sister of Kimberly Anne.
Alaina Marie married Matt Möller in 2018. She describes herself as a lover of travel and promoter of body positivity.
Stevie Laine
Aged 22, Stevie Laine is the youngster of the three and has been raised by Eminem and her biological mother, Kimberley Anne Scott.
She also shares Eminem’s surname Mathers.
According to Today, she is dating TikToker Declan Jace.
“He moved in with me last year, like December,” she said.
“I feel like if you really have a connection with someone, it can work – especially if you make time for it to work.”
