There is no better feeling than crawling into bed after swapping old sheets for some freshly cleaned bed clothes.
But a recent poll has found that this view is only held by some, as findings show that Brits fall into three different categories of bed washers.
According to results of a YouGov poll, only 33% of Brits are 'Weekly Washers' - and wash their sheets once a week.
The largest group is the 'Two-Weekers', as 35% of the British public wash their bed clothes every two weeks.
The final group, known as the 'Au Naturels', 22% only wash their sheets once every three to seven weeks.
There is a tiny 3% of the population who are 'Wash Maniacs' and wash bedclothes more than once a week.
As expected age plays a big role in these findings.
Of the 'Au Naturels' 37% of voters fall into the age category of 18-24, while only 14% are over 60s.
In contrast, 42% of over 60s are weekly washers and 16% are 18-24 year olds.
The poll also asked voters at what stage they feel bedsheets become 'unhygienic' and when they turn 'disgusting'.
YouGov said: "Men have lower standards of cleanliness, as their definition of unhygienic bedsheets is, on average, those not washed after four weeks., while women say three weeks.
"Mens' definition of disgusting sheets is not washing them until after six weeks, while the average British woman says that after five weeks a bed would already be disgusting."
