Striker Sam Surridge believes he is playing "some of the best football" of his career as he thrives at Nottingham Forest.
The 23-year-old made the move to the City Ground in January, leaving Stoke City after barely six months to put pen to paper for the Reds. And he has quickly settled into life Trentside.
Although largely limited to substitute appearances since his deadline day switch, Surridge has proved to be a clinical finisher when it comes to taking his chances in front of goal. He made his first league start in the Garibaldi on Monday as Steve Cooper's side eased to a 4-0 win over West Bromwich Albion, and capped a good performance with another well-taken strike.

That made it four in 15 run-outs for Forest for the front man, who stepped up in the absence of Keinan Davis and Lewis Grabban against the Baggies. It was a crucial victory, too, as the hosts looked to bounce back from disappointment at Luton Town and continue their push for a top-six finish.
“For whatever reason it didn’t work out at Stoke. I’m absolutely thriving here under the manager, in the team and the city. They’ve really taken me in, and I’m thriving at the moment," Surridge said.
“I just want to keep enjoying it. I’ll take every game as it comes.
“I’ve settled in well. All the lads have been great with me. I’m playing some of the best football of my career. Long may it continue.
“I’m always disappointed if I’m not scoring. I felt I contributed. I felt like I worked my socks off, controlled the ball when I needed to and had a good game. The goal just topped it off.
“I just need to keep taking my opportunities whenever I get them. I’m doing that at the moment.
“I’m just taking it game by game. I knew I had to come in and put in a good performance, and I did that.
“It was a really important performance from us and a really important win. I think we needed to come out and put right any questions from Friday.
“We were disappointed at Luton. We felt hard done by. But we showed real grit and determination to put it right.
“It was absolutely amazing. A great performance and a great result."
