How NFL Players Anonymously Ranked Top 5 Coordinators in Recent Poll

What do NFL players think about their coordinators?

That question was answered Thursday in the second annual NFLPA Player Team Report Card project, which released data from a recent poll asking players to grade their offensive, defensive and special teams coordinators.

The coordinators on this list received the highest average rating from players on their clubs. The NFLPA only released the top five finishers in each job title.

“Guys in the top five list pretty clearly appeal to almost everybody in their locker room,” NFLPA president JC Tretter told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero on Thursday.

Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn polled extremely well among his players.

There were some surprise snubs on the list. Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, expected to land a head-coaching job this offseason, was not included. Neither was anyone on the Baltimore Ravens, who own the best record in the NFL this season (13–3).

The Dallas Cowboys were the only team to have all three coordinators finish in the top five of their respective categories. The 2–14 Carolina Panthers surprisingly had two coordinators on this list, as did the Lions and Minnesota Vikings.

Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn received the highest score of any coordinator.

Here’s how they voted:

4. Brian Callahan, Cincinnati Bengals
