How much will Tyler Higbee play vs. Jets? One report gives estimate of snap count

The Los Angeles Rams offense is getting a key player back from injury today against the New York Jets. Tyler Higbee will make his season debut after tearing his ACL and MCL in January’s playoff loss, returning from a lengthy absence that caused him to miss 14 games.

He’s one of four active tight ends for the Rams today, giving Sean McVay options at the position. With this being Higbee’s first game of the season, it’s reasonable to think he won’t play a full share of snaps in his debut.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Higbee is expected to have a somewhat limited role and play about 20-25 snaps.

“They get Tyler Higbee back,” Garafolo said. “The tight end will make his season debut after having ACL and shoulder surgery. I’m expecting about 20-25 plays for him. Talked to Sean McVay yesterday about him and he said, ‘He’s just a stud. The fact that he’s back is a testament to the work that he’s put in.’”

Higbee has been a cog in the Rams offense for years, and given the lack of production Los Angeles has gotten from its tight ends this season, his return should provide a boost.

The Rams’ tight ends have combined for one touchdown all year, which was scored by Colby Parkinson against the Patriots.
