How much salary cap space the Panthers have after Eddy Piñeiro signing

Now that the details on the new deal between the Carolina Panthers and kicker Eddy Piñeiro have emerged, let’s clean up the numbers a bit.

The two-year pact for the 27-year-old is worth a total of $4.1 million, per Spotrac. Piñeiro will now account for cap hits of $1.5 million for the 2023 campaign and $2.5 million for 2024.

With Piñeiro back onboard, the Panthers now have approximately $27.3 million in available salary cap space. That amount is currently the second-highest in the league, with the Chicago Bears leading the way at $38.3 million.
