Todd Boehly has learned how much Chelsea will rake in from their players competing at the World Cup in Qatar. With Graham Potter seemingly eager to bolster his squad in January, the windfall from the tournament comes as a nice boost.
Unfortunately for the Blues, the club will not be granted any funds from players reaching the final or, better still, winning the prestigious competition. However, the west Londoners will be thankful for the bonuses reaped from Hakim Ziyech and Mateo Kovacic for reaching the World Cup semi-final.
Ziyech was key to his nation navigating their way past the likes of Portugal, Spain and Belgium before France stood in their way. Kovacic played as much of an integral role for Croatia, who reached the latter stages of the tournament despite the odds being stacked against them.

Raheem Sterling, Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher were knocked out of the quarter-finals at the hands of the reigning champions. Thiago Silva dived out of the quarter-finals too after Croatia held their nerve in a controversial shootout which saw Neymar not take a penalty.
Denis Zakaria, Cesar Azpilicueta and Christian Pulisic failed to make it past the round of 16. Switzerland were stopped in their tracks by Portugal, Morocco knocked out Spain and the United States were humbled by Netherlands.
But, the trio ventured further than the likes of Kai Havertz, Romelu Lukaku, Baba Rahman and Ethan Ampadu. Germany, Belgium, Ghana and Wales all, respectively, failed to qualify from the group stages.
With that being said, according to The Athletic, Chelsea will receive approximately £2.3million from players competing at the World Cup. To put that into context, the Blues are set to profit from the competition more than any other club in the Premier League, but one - Manchester City (£3.3million).
The report states that Tottenham will receive £2million, Arsenal to receive £1.3million, Manchester United to £2million and Liverpool to £1.5million. While Chelsea will unlikely be able to buy the likes of Declan Rice or Jude Bellingham with the World Cup windfall, every little helps and the £2.3million will certainly go towards a great cause.
