Manchester United have been told how much money it will take to lure Harry Kane to Old Trafford. Tottenham have set their Premier League rivals an asking price of £100million to acquire the England captain’s services.
This would have to be made in one up-front payment rather than in instalments or performance stipulations, according to the Telegraph. This comes after Spurs rejected a similar-sized bid from Manchester City in 2021, when the guaranteed fee was only £75million before it would rise to £100million.
That bid came when Kane had three years left on his contract. Despite the 29-year-old now only having 12 months left on his current deal at the end of this season, Daniel Levy and co. show little sign of budging from their eye-watering asking price to deter prospective buyers this summer.

Erik ten Hag’s side have reportedly placed Kane high up on a shortlist of striker targets. However, United are unlikely to be keen on drawn out discussions as they look to reshape their attack for the next campaign, and this high price could lead to them pursuing other avenues instead, such as Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
United aren’t the only club monitoring Kane’s situation, as both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid may also be interested in swooping in. That being said, a move abroad appears the least appealing option to Kane, who has previously expressed his desire to overhaul Alan Shearer’s record of 260 Premier League goals.
Kane is currently just 56 short of achieving that feat, and may only be a couple of seasons away from becoming the Premier League’s greatest ever goalscorer. This domestic appeal could result in the striker remaining in north London next year, with Tottenham increasingly confident of not only keeping him beyond this summer, but also extending his current deal.
If the summer of 2024 arrives and there appears no suitable domestic option for the soon-to-be free agent, then Kane is reportedly open to agreeing to an extension. For now though, contract talks have seemingly been put on the back burner until the summer, with the England international likely waiting to see who the Tottenham manager will be next season.
football.london understands that while Tottenham's managing director of football Fabio Paratici has spoken to Kane's camp on a couple of occasions regarding plans to sit down to discuss a new deal in the near future, the club have as of yet not entered into any formal discussions over a new contract for the England captain. football.london also understands that Kane's future is not linked with that of Antonio Conte, who looks increasingly unlikely to still be at the club this summer.
